There are many great golf courses Arizona and you could do worse that giving one a try. A golf vacation in Tucson would let you also visit Phoenix and Scottsdale. Well, you?re already in Arizona so why not take full advantage. These also are great golf resorts and there?s nothing like killing two birds with one stone, or whatever they say.

Due to the desert environment and climate, Tucson golf vacations are available all year round. The average monthly high for July is just below 100F and for January is 64F so while great deals are generally available in July and August, Tucson would be the perfect choice for a winter golf vacation.

Not All Tucson Golf Courses are Expensive

The main golf resorts in Tucson are at Ventana canyon, the Hilton El Conquistador and the Westin La Polama. If you like Tom Fazio courses, the Lodge at Ventana Canyon has two of them. There are, however, many more golf courses available for the lighter pocket and Tucson has an excellent municipal golf system with five courses as well as many other excellent golfing resorts.

Tucson is a desert city and desert golf can be a little different to what you are used to. Many of the holes involve what is generally termed ?target golf?. Right from the tee you have to aim for areas of fairway laid into the desert ? patches of greenery, from where you make your next shot to the next patch of greenery. This is a bit exaggerated, but is a rough description of what desert target golf is about. Sounds fun! It?s not all like that though.

Tucson Has Yet to be Discovered: Take Advantage While it Lasts

An excellent reason for opting for Tucson rather than Phoenix or Scottsdale is people. There are a lot fewer people competing for the tees at Tucson and also a lot less traffic. Partially because of this, prices tend to be easy on the pocket. Yet another reason for the increasing popularity of Tucson golf vacations, but for how long will it last? An area with all these great golf courses and few traffic problems, no grid-locks, no having to book weeks or months in advance for a round of golf. It won?t last long once the word gets round.

I suggest that if you are considering a desert vacation in the near future you give Tucson a try soon because the area cannot remain so quiet for very much longer.
